I have great news! I received an offer for an Executive Team Leader position for Target! Yay! I start January 5, 2009! I am very excited and so happy to have found a great opportunity as this is!
So tomorrow, I need to go take a drug test for Target and once I pass that I will be given the offer in writing! Very exciting!
I also have several things to do tomorrow and tonight before heading to CO on Wednesday. I need to do some errands with the rest of the world shopping, except mine is not Christmas shopping. I need to find a few pairs of khakis and a few red shirts for work b/c I start the next day we get back from CO! I am also going to get a gym membership b/c I have wanted to do that for a while now. And finally, which is a little sad, I must take down our christmas tree so it does not catch on fire while we are gone on vacation! OH, and pack!
Even though I will be busy these next 24+ hours, I am so very excited to have this opportunity! Santa brought a great gift to me this year! Thank you so much Santa! :)

I had a busy day today! First, I went on an interview for Target Corporation that lasted 2 hours! Yay for a good interview! Then I went to two grocery stores, Safeway and Trader Joes. I quickly unloaded everything from my garage to our upstairs apartment, unloaded the dishwasher and started the laundry, and then Travis was home!
We caught up on each other's days and decided to hit our apartment gym for a little run (since it was too dark and cold outside). We cooked dinner, waldorf chicken salad (one of my favs) and watched a little tv. I mentioned to Travis that I had bought a bag of marchmallows to use in the future for the rest of the rice cripies we have to make rice cripy treats. He quickly wanted to know if he could have a few marshmallows and that tunred into me making Rice Crispy treats tonight. So, I did and they were amazing. I forwarned him that I was going to be baking a lot later this week and he said, well we will just make sure to take a lot to his parents' house this weekend. I said, OK!
I am planning to bake a few items this week! On my list is:
Sugar Cookies in various shapes
Pretzel rods with milk chocolate and white chocolate
Candied walnuts
I am looking forward to doing all of this baking!
Travis and I are also planning to go drive around the Folsom area and look at Christmas lights on Wednesday. I also plan to make Apple Cider. We have been drinking a lot of hot cocoa these past couple of weeks. I bought whipping cream so not only were we having hot cocoa, but we were also enjoying homemade whipped cream with out hot drink. It is a lovely treat.
We are both getting anxious to head to the Sierra mountains for Christmas with the Fords and then heading out to CO on Christmas Eve. We are very fortunate to make it out to CO for the holiday.
Love to all!

Things I Love...
I thought it would be meaningful to make a list of things that I love, enjoy and respect in my life, especially since it is Christmas time. And afterall, it is the happiest time of the year!
- I Love, enjoy and respect Travis!
- My Mom & Dad, they truly are amazing in every way
- My younger brothers
- My extended family from both sides
- My In-Laws
- Friends from CO and from CA, especially the ones who keep in touch with us on a consistent basis
- Our 1st Christmas Tree, and our other xmas decorations
- The holiday season... this time of year is so magical in every way
- Our first apartment
- My marriage
- Cooking & Baking
- Travis immensely enjoying the start of his career! He loves what he is doing and he deserves it.
- Receiving and sending Christmas Cards
- Flying home to CO for the holidays!
- My Lander dog (who I hear is going to be newly groomed when I see him next) and Annie and Molly dogs
- My husband, again, for making egg rolls for dinner tonight! ;)
So I realize this is a slightly random list, but it makes me realize how lucky I am to have what I have and to cherish my life. Some people search their whole lives for a lot of the things that I have already received out of my life. I plan to never take those for granted.
Love & Joy to all this holiday season ...and only 15 more days until Christmas! 'Tis the Season to be Jolly.... FaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa!

Michelle Obama Rally: November 3, 2008
I thought I would post some pics of the Michelle Obama rally I attended with my mother when I was in CO! It was the day before he was elected as President and was truly a one of a kind experience for me.
I arrived in Denver on Sunday and my family mentioned to me that Michelle was holding a rally at Dakota Ridge on Monday! I immediately planned on attending. My family was nice enough to figure out a way for me to have a vehicle to drive to the rally and wait in line for 2 hours. 2 hours was not so bad, I thought that the line would have started a lot earlier. Mark texted me at 1pm when people started lining up and I arrived shortly after that. I stood right behind one of my 7th grade teachers, which was a lot of fun to catch up with her. Both of our lives had changed so much since then and it was fun getting to share those experiences with her.
The line got longer each minute and people were getting more and more anxious to get inside. Luckily, it was a sunny and warm day! My mom showed up to stand in line with me and some of the big name political people of CO showed up shaking people's hands and taking pictures. I met Mark Udall, which was pretty neat!
As the line started moving, we all just wanted to run through the doors, but luckily that didn't happen. I had my purse with me, so it had to be sniffed by a police dog before I entered. I told my mom to run in and get a spot for us while my purse was sniffed. After that was finished (which was cool!), I found my mom and we sat and waited for the rally to begin. Ken Salazar spoke, as did Mark Udall, and a few others, and then Michelle arrived. The aura was great! At first, I wasn't sure what it felt like exactly. But, I think I have come to the conclusion that it was almost a feeling of relief. Once everyone that came to listen was in the gymnasium and we were all listening to what Michelle was saying, I think people really felt relief and belief that Obama would be our President-elect tomorrow. Of course there was excitement and happiness, but everyone had a strong sense of belief that history would be made and America would be changed for the better, finally!
Such a great experience for me... it has encouraged me even more to continue to vote and make my opinions heard. I am really looking forward to the next 4 years for sure, and hopefully 8! :)
Our 6 Month Wedding Anniversary!
Today, Travis and I celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary! It was a foggy and cold day in Folsom, much colder than I expected it to be. We celebrated by going to lunch at Pita Pita and going to see Australia. Oh, and Travis made me popcorn, the old fashioned way, for the movie! I love him.
Lunch was amazing and it might be one of my new favorites! We both ate gyros and I had hummus dip and he had eggplant dip as an appetizer. Mmm... The movie was grand! I thought Nicole Kidman was extraordinary and I really enjoyed the plot and music composition. If you haven't seen it, please do treat yourself to it. It was almost 3 hours long, but it did not feel like it at all.
I took this picture outside the movie theatre with the Chritsmas tree in the background. I love Christmas time! Christmas 2008 countdown: 18 days!
Well that is our recap of our day!
Love & Joy to all this holiday season!

A Typical Saturday for the Fords
Every Saturday that Mr. Ford and I are in Folsom, we make our way to the Farmer's Market in Rancho Cordova! To be honest, I look forward to it every week. We first make a nice and hearty breakfast and then head out to the market. We always make sure to get enough fruits and veggies for the week as well as what is in season and making sure to be creative with it! So today, we purchased cabbage and decided to make salsa and egg rolls out of it. We made sure to get all of the necessities for the salsa as well ~ jalapeno peppers, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro! It is going to be so yummy!
I also bought two 1 lb. bags of walnuts to make this spiced walnut recipe that is to die for! Thanks Esther! I plan to give some of the nuts away and eat the others, lol! :)
Another reason why I love going to market is I get to take my green grocery bag and my new basket that Jenny, Travis's mom, gave to me for my birthday! I think why I like going to the market so much is mainly because it reminds me of home and my family. Having the oldest organic farm in CO as part of my family, markets have always been a part of my life. It is nice that I am able to enjoy this in Folsom as well (and it is year round here)!
On this particular Saturday, we headed to the Folsom Holiday Craft Fair. It was a lot bigger than I suspected it would be and it was free!! Yay for free events! We walked around and looked at every one's crafts, got a few ideas of how I could make crafts out of Travis's products of his land, and bought one ornament (for 50 cents may I add). Overall, it was a nice little Saturday treat!
Tonight we are making dinner ~ Chicken tacos with our amazing and fresh cabbage salsa and enjoying our Christmas decorations! We might even go out for ice cream!
Tomorrow is our 6 month wedding anniversary! Already, I know! We have decided to go on a little date to Pita Pita and see Australia! Needless to say, I am excited! It will be a great day!
